The St. John Municipal Court is located on the second floor of the St. John Municipal Center, 8944 St. Charles Rock Road. Night court is held twice a month and payment dockets are held once a month during the day on pre-set dates established by Judge Dignam. Â The court closes at 4 pm on the last workday of each month. Regular business hours are Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm.
Update: The Municipal Court’s night court will start at 6:15 PM, with doors opening at 5:15 PM, effective August 22nd.
The City of St. John also administers the Village of Sycamore Hills Court as well. This means that all Sycamore Hills municipal court matters, including hearings, filings, and payments, are handled through the St. John Municipal Court. This arrangement ensures streamlined services and consistent legal proceedings for residents of both communities.
Paying Fines
Various fines, established by the Judge, may be paid out of court. Payment for fines must be made by cash, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover), money order or cashier’s check. No personal checks are accepted. Business checks are accepted only if the ticket is in the name of the business. - IFÂ the ticket is in the St. John or Sycamore Hills Court, then you can just call the St. John Municipal Court at (314) 427-8700, ext. #6, Monday thru Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, EXCEPT dates that night court is held. Â On those dates, the court is open 8 am to 3 pm. Â The doors reopen at 5:00 pm for night court which starts at 6:00 pm.
Payment Method
- All cashiers’ checks and money orders must be made payable to the St. John Municipal Court.
- Final acceptance of all payment methods is subject to the approval of the Court Administrator.
 Not all tickets/fines are payable out of court. Many require a court appearance. In order to be sure if a ticket is payable out of court, call the Municipal Court at 314-427-8700, ext. 6, Monday thru Friday, 8 am – 5 pm, EXCEPT on dates that night court is held.  On those dates the court is open 8 am to 3 pm.  The court doors are opened at 6:30 pm that evening for the 7:30 night court .Please see the list of court dates for night courts.
Children in the Courtroom
It is strongly encouraged that children are not brought into the Courtroom. However, if children must be present, they are required to be well-behaved, quiet, and must not disturb Court proceedings. Parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring that their children remain calm and do not disrupt the session.
