If you have lost a pet in or around St. John, always call the St. John City Hall at 314-427-8700, ext. 3, to see if we’ve picked it up. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We don’t have facilities to house pets overnight, so if we are unable to locate the owner of a lost pet quickly, pets are taken to the APA on Baur Blvd, since the APA is now running the shelter operations. Full address is 10521 Baur Blvd, Olivette MO 63132 if we want to list the whole thing. Always check with us first to expedite the reunion with your lost pet.

Additionally, visit STL Lost Pets for updated information and resources on found pets in the area. This website provides valuable tools to help you locate your lost pet and alert local shelters that your pet is missing.

Steps to Locate the Owner

  1. Identification Tags: Ensure your pet wears a St. John Animal License and a St. Louis County Rabies vaccination tag. These tags are crucial for quick identification if your pet gets lost.
  2. Microchipping: Microchip your pet and keep the contact information updated. This helps shelters and veterinarians contact you if your pet is found.
